Recently, the collective has been exploring the concept of soft power: influence that is exerted by making goals attractive to an audience, rather than by coercive tactics. I Found U posits that soft power can be utilized not only by governments, but also by artists. We examined conceptions of the future, potential solutions, concerns that it may be too late for optimism, and the possibilities for tenderness and care in the face of complex developments with unknown outcomes. Our aim is not to create a unified view on the future, but to embrace our diverse and sometimes paradoxical perspectives in order to discuss ideas that often trigger fears and division between people of different points of view.

Soft Future (Sanfte Zukunft, Suave Futuro, Doux Avenir, Нежное Будущее, Απαλό Μέλλον) presents the collective’s ongoing discourse through a range of multidisciplinary practices. I Found U is committed to global discourse and understanding across cultures. We practice this through respectful conversations that are challenged by differences in opinion, words lost in translation, technical delays, echoes and feedback. As our diverse practices gently collide, contradict or complement each other, we grow as artists and individuals. I Found U embraces multi-faceted interpretations of a Soft Future, which informs our engagement with a larger community and demonstrates the interconnectedness of things.
